Law360 To Launch Corporate Law360, End Top News

Law360 is retiring its Top News section to make way for Corporate Law360, a wire devoted to the legal and regulatory issues affecting corporations and their counsel.

Corporate Law360 launches Sept. 25, and will provide in-house legal departments and outside counsel with comprehensive coverage of the latest developments in corporate law, compliance, and governance.

Law360 News subscribers will have full access to the new section. As of Sept. 25, Top News newsletter recipients will instead receive the Corporate Law360 newsletter.

Law360 In-House Series Sizzles

Law360 made a splash this week with a series of articles focusing on corporate counsel, the firms they admire most, and the pressure on BigLaw in these litigation-averse times.

The articles delve into a survey by The BTI Consulting Group, providing insight into the corporate counsel mindset and what to expect in the year ahead. They pinpoint a number of key issues, including the rage for settlements, how firms can keep in-house counsel happy, and weaknesses that need to be addressed.

In the survey, corporate counsel ranked firms like McGuireWoods, Alston & Bird, and Ogletree Deakins that excelled in specific practice areas, including securities defense, IP litigation, and employment. They also named the “Fearsome Foursome” — powerhouses like Skadden and Kirkland & Ellis that nobody wants to meet in the courtroom.
