Law360 Expands State Coverage, Drops Region Wires

Law360 is retiring Midwest Law360 and Southeast Law360 on Aug. 31 as part of its ongoing effort to provide more focused and expansive state coverage.

These sections will be replaced by more state-specific wires, with on-the-ground reporters providing up-to-the-minute business intelligence that readers need to stay ahead of the competition.

While the Midwest and Southeast sections will no longer exist, there won't be any gaps in Law360's coverage of issues and events in those regions, and subscribers will see only enhancements in content.

To start with, Law360 has beefed up its presence in state courts nationwide, including in Florida and Illinois. And readers will soon see state newsletters devoted to litigation, regulatory, and deal news and analysis in key jurisdictions.

Additionally, Law360 News subscribers will have full access to the new state sections when they launch.

Law360 Names Pro Bono Firms Of 2012

Law360 has chosen its leading pro bono practices for 2012, paying tribute to 20 law firms where outstanding counsel extends far beyond the billable hour.

Law360's Pro Bono Firms of 2012 — which include Davis Polk, Gibson Dunn, Morrison & Foerster, and Skadden — devoted an average of 104 hours per attorney to pro bono clients. Over the next four weeks, readers will get an in-depth look at the accomplishments that put these firms at the top.

The daily profiles detail major victories in high-impact cases for death row inmates, Holocaust survivors, and same-sex couples, among others. They also examine how elite law firms integrate pro bono service with leading practices, even during a sluggish economy.
