Law360 has expanded its Case Alerts tracking tool to the Banking, Energy, Health, Insurance, Life Sciences, Media & Entertainment, and Technology newsletters, giving users a rundown of companies within each industry involved in emerging litigation, as well as law firms retained as counsel.
The tool keeps Law360 users on top of the latest legal developments in these industries, displaying companies that have become involved in federal cases. The Case Alerts box also lists law firms recently retained as counsel in federal cases involving companies in these industries:
When users click on a party or law firm link in the newsletter, they will be directed to a list of cases that organization is involved in:
Subscribers to Law360 Data can then access complaints and other recent documents related to the case directly through Law360 using their PACER credentials. Even better, many of the documents have already been cached and can be accessed without any PACER fees at all.
Law360 Data subscribers can also set up alerts for companies, case developments, or law firms with just the click of a button. For more on setting up alerts, click here.
• Is a separate subscription required to use Case Alerts?
Yes. Access to Case Alerts is limited to Law360 Data subscribers.
• Is a PACER account required to view case documents?
All case documents cached in our database are accessible to Law360 Data subscribers without a PACER login.
Documents that haven't been cached by our system require a PACER account, and you will have to pay any relevant PACER fees to download those uncached documents.
You can also attach your PACER credentials to your Law360 account, making it easy to access all court documents through our database. For help on this, please talk to your organization’s account manager or contact [email protected].
• Do I have to pay more depending on how many cached documents I download?
No. There are no extra charges for accessing cached documents if you have a Law360 Data subscription.

The system includes cases that were filed or in which a major development occurred after Jan. 1, 2011.
• How frequently is the Law360 Data system updated?
The database is updated hourly.
• Does the Law360 Data system include state court cases?
No. The database currently includes only civil cases in federal district courts.
• If I set up an alert to track a case, company, etc., how often are these alerts sent out?
Subscribers can choose to receive company and firm alerts daily. They can choose to receive case development alerts either daily or in real time, which means an alert is sent out as soon as the event enters our database.
• Is there a limit to the number of alerts I'm able to set up?
No. Subscribers can set up as many alerts as they want.
• Why doesn't Law360 Data list my company?
Law360’s database currently lists major U.S. public and private companies as well as many major foreign public companies, but is always expanding. If you'd like your company added, please contact [email protected].
