Law360 is adding the Case Alerts tracking tool to its Intellectual Property and Employment newsletters, showing users companies involved in emerging cases, as well as law firms retained as counsel.
Broken down by type of case, the Case Alerts box shows government agencies and publicly traded U.S. companies involved in new litigation in federal district courts. It will soon include private U.S. companies, as well.
The Case Alerts box also lists law firms retained as counsel in federal cases.
When users click on a party or law firm link in the newsletter, they will be directed to a listing of cases that organization is involved in:
Subscribers to Law360 Data can then immediately load complaints for many of the cases in the database without having to pay any PACER fees. If a complaint is not available for free, a link directs the user to a list of recent docket activity for the case.
Law360 automatically caches IP- and employment-related complaints each day, and thousands of other case documents cached by our system are also available to Law360 Data subscribers free of charge.
Additionally, users can set up alerts for major events in cases from the complaint or docket activity page. If a user is looking for other case information, they can click on the case title to visit the main case page, which includes party and counsel listings, recent docket activity, and more.
